The life of late disco icon Donna Summer comes to Broadway in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, which begins previews March 28 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
Directed by Des McAnuff, the musical includes more than 20 of Summer's well-known hits (including “Love to Love You, Baby,” “Hot Stuff,” and “MacArthur Park”) with a book penned by McAnuff, Colman Domingo, and Robert Cary. Summer will officially open on Broadway April 23.
The score includes more than 20 of the singer’s classic hits, including “Bad Girls,” “She Works Hard for the Money,” “Dim All the Lights,” “MacArthur Park,” “On the Radio,” and “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough).”
The production arrives on Broadway after a developmental world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse in late 2017. Tommy Mottola and the Dodgers produce Summer on Broadway.
