News Sun (Audio Movie), by Hair's James Rado and Gerome Ragni, Plays Theatre 80 Oct. 22 Howl! Arts Project 2011, The Actors Fund and Jim Rado's In the Dark Theater present Sun (Audio Movie)—the only full-length musical, other than Hair, written together by Tony Award nominees James Rado and Gerome Ragni—Oct. 22 at Theatre 80.

The 8 PM performance, introduced by Rado, features music by Steve Margoshes, who also composed Fame: The Musical.

Sun (Audio Movie), according to press notes, "is a unique theatrical and listening experience featuring a recording from the Theatrical Laboratory of Rado, presented completely in the dark. Sun (Audio Movie) recounts a comic-Orwellian epic struggle between the nuclear gods and the natural gods. Addressing themes of good vs. evil, distress and unrest, Rado and Ragni use the icons, myths, and fables of humanity's past, present and future."

Rado and Ragni's landmark musical Hair, which was written with Galt MacDermot, opened Off-Broadway in October 1967. Since Ragni's death in 1991, Rado has been active in redeveloping Sun (Audio Movie).

Howl! Arts Project was conceived as a vehicle to benefit H.E.L.P. (Howl! Emergency Life Project), the newly established emergency assistance fund supporting East Village artists of all disciplines, which also provides all services offered by parent administrator The Actors Fund.

Theatre 80 is located at 80 St. Marks Place. For more information and tickets, visit www.howlfestival.com or http://www.brownpapertickets.com/e/201548.
