News Sunset Boulevard's Campbell Revisits Mamet's Oleanna Oct. 16 Alan Campbell, who co-starred in Oleanna at North Carolina's Kennedy Theatre, revisits the David Mamet play beginning Oct. 16.

Campbell will again portray John in Mamet's two-hander, opposite the Carol of recent NYU graduate Aurora Nessly, when the production plays The Lab Theatre at Florida Gulf Coast University Oct. 16 and 17 and at the Norris Center in Naples Oct. 19-22.

Kristen Coury, who directed the Kennedy Theatre production, will assume the same duties for the Florida runs. In a recent statement Coury said, "I am delighted to bring this production to Southwest Florida to share with local audiences. Most of the production elements and team will remain the same, and we are delighted that Alan Campbell will be once again headlining."

"It’s a game of 'He Said. She Said," reads Oleanna production notes, "when Carol (Jones), a struggling student visits the office of John (Campbell), her professor for help. The seemingly harmless encounter quickly turns sour. From relatively trivial beginnings, a struggle of power, spin and manipulation develops between both characters."

Alan Campbell, most recently on Broadway in the Tony-winning dance musical Contact, portrayed Joe Gillis in the Los Angeles and Broadway productions of Sunset Boulevard, earning a Tony nomination for his work in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. Campbell has been seen Off Broadway in Avow and Boogie Woogie, and his screen credits include "Jake and the Fatman," "Three's a Crowd," "Another World," "Matlock" and "Homicide."
