Director Hal Prince, who worked with Stroman on Show Boat, will present the honor at the Haft Auditorium at the FIT in Manhattan. Boyd Gaines and the cast of Contact will provide a special performance.
Now in its sixth year, The Elan Awards celebrate choreography by producing new works by selected choreographers. Past recipients of The Elan Awards include: Lar Lubovitch (2004), Rob Marshall (2003), Ann Reinking (2002), Jerry Mitchell (2001) and Graciella Danielle (2000).
