News Sutton Foster, André De Shields and Nancy Opel Join Casts of NAMT Festival Musicals Tony Award winner Sutton Foster and Tony nominees André De Shields and Nancy Opel have joined the casts of upcoming works to be presented at the National Alliance for Musical Theatre's Festival of New Musicals in October.

"Bunheads" and Anything Goes star Foster is set to star in the Ben Clark-Beth Turcotte musical The Circus in Winter, which also features Brian Sutherland (1776), Steel Burkhardt (Hair), Kate Rockwell (Bring It On), Marie-France Arcilla (Working), Emily Behny (Beauty and the Beast), Derrick Cobey (The Scottsboro Boys), Jonathan Jensen, Corey Mach (Godspell) and Jen Noble (Ghost).

De Shields (Play On!) will star as Guy Fawkes in the Justin Levine musical Bonfire Night. The cast also includes Jeremy Morse (Bloodsong of Love), Omar Lopez-Cepero (American Idiot), Eddie Wardel, Santino Fontana (Cinderella), Chris Hoch (La Cage aux Folles) and Wade McCollum (Triassic Parq).

Opel (Urinetown) and Damon Daunno (Brief Encounter) will be part of the Jason Schafer-Arthur Lafrentz Bacon-Harris Doran musical Bleeding Love, which includes Tony nominee Robin De Jesus (In the Heights and La Cage aux Folles), Sarah Stiles (Into the Woods) and William Ryall (Chaplin).

Sleeping Beauty Wakes, by Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheinkin and Valerie Vigoda, will feature Timothy Warmen (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark), Annie Golden (Xanadu) and Bryce Ryness (Hair).

Ryness will also be part of Triangle by Curtis Moore, Thomas Mizer and Joshua Sher. It also features Dana Steingold and Margot Siebert. Kirsten Childs' Funked Up Fairy Tales will include Drew Aber (A Tale of Two Cities), who joins Demond Green (Sister Act), Kenita Miller (Xanadu), Alysha Umphress (American Idiot) and Emily Walton (The Shaggs).

As previously reported, Lauren Molina (Marry Me A Little), Adam Kantor (Rent), Nicole Lewis (Hair), Heath Calvert (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Kelsey Kurz (The Merchant of Venice), Asmeret Ghebremichael (The Book of Mormon), Phoebe Strole (Spring Awakening) and Etai Ben Shlomo (Wicked) will be part of Itamar Moses and Gaby Alter's Nobody Loves You.

Emmy and Academy Award nominee Annette O'Toole ("A Might Wind"), Jeff McCarthy (Urinetown), Natalie Joy Johnson (Legally Blonde), Robin Skye (Parade), Allison Briner (Mamma Mia!), Lizzie Hagstedt (Sweeney Todd), Joel Waggoner, Randy Redd (War Horse) and Andy Taylor (Once) are part of the cast of Dan Collins and Julianne Wick Davis' musical Southern Comfort.

Presented Oct. 11-12 at New World Stages, NAMT invites industry members from across the country and around the world to attend the two-day event that showcases 45-minute presentations of eight new musicals. Betsy King Militello is the executive director of NAMT, which is presenting its 24th annual festival.
