News Sutton Foster, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Jason Robert Brown Scheduled for “Working in the Theatre” Seminars The American Theatre Wing has announced its latest "Working in the Theatre" seminars, the acclaimed series that presents major theatre personalities discussing their craft.

Created by Wing Chairman Isabelle Stevenson, the seminars are now in their 31st year. This season's series begins Tuesday, April 23, with a “Playwright/Director/Choreographer” seminar. Those scheduled to participate include Richard Greenberg and Luis Perez; Lloyd Richards will moderate. The April 30 “Production Seminar” features Urban Cowboy’s Chase Mishkin, Leonard Soloway, Lonny Price, Aaron Latham, Jason Robert Brown and Pete Sanders, and the “Design Seminar” on May 1 will include Hairspray’s David Rockwell with Jeffrey Eric Jenkins as moderator. The last offering, also on May 1, is a “Performance Seminar,” which will boast the talents of Sutton Foster, Claire Higgins, Brian Stokes Mitchell and John Turturro. Pia Lindstrom will moderate this final seminar. The "Working in the Theatre" seminars are held from 11 AM to 1 PM (the “Performance Seminar” is scheduled for 2 to 4 PM) at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, 365 Fifth Avenue at 34th Street. Due to the popularity of the series, reservations must be made in advance by calling (212) 765-0606, faxing (212) 307-1910 or e-mailing [email protected].

For those unable to attend the discussions, the series is broadcast six times a week on CUNY-TV (Time Warner channel 75 and RCN channel 106); the Stevenson-Roy A. Somlyo presentations are also broadcast in Los Angeles on Channel 36.

Attendance to the seminars is free to theatre students, members of theatrical unions and guilds and casts of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.
