News Sutton Foster Cancels Remainder of Carlyle Engagement Due to Family Emergency; Christine Ebersole and More Will Step In Two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster, who returned to the Café Carlyle Sept. 10 with a new act, has canceled the remainder of her engagement due to a family emergency, a spokesperson for the Carlyle confirmed Sept. 24.

Foster, who was scheduled to perform through Sept. 28, has left town to attend to a family emergency. She and the Carlyle are working to reschedule the canceled performances of the sold-out show, and details will be announced at a later date.

Foster is a Tony winner for Thoroughly Modern Millie and Anything Goes and was Tony-nominated for Shrek, The Drowsy Chaperone and Little Women.

The Café Carlyle schedule for the week will now be Chris Gillespie (Sept. 24 at 8:45 PM); David Budway with special guest Donna Lewis (Sept. 25 at 8:45 PM); Donna Lewis featuring David King, Reid Anderson and Aaron Parks (Sept. 25 at 10:45 PM); Christine Ebersole with five-piece band led by musical director John Oddo (Sept. 26 at 8:45 PM, Sept. 27 at 8:45 PM and Sept. 28 at 8:45 PM); and Natalie Douglas
(Sept. 26 at 10:45 PM and Sept. 27 at 10:45 PM).
