Tony Award winner Sutton Foster, who received a Tony nomination for her performance as Fiona in Broadway’s Shrek The Musical, will revisit that musical—on the opposite side of the table.

She will co-direct Ball State University’s production alongside Bill Jenkins, the University’s Department of Theatre and Dance’s chairperson, according to the department website.

Featuring a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire with music by Jeanine Tesori, performances will be held March 31 and April 1, 2, 4-8 at 7:30 PM, and April 2 and 8 at 2:30 PM. Musical direction is by Michael Elliott with choreography by Megan E. Farley.

Foster received an honorary doctorate degree from Ball State in 2012 “in recognition of her outstanding career in theater, television and music and for her contributions to the educational experience and professional growth of Ball State students.” She also co-directed their 2012 production of The Drowsy Chaperone, a show in which she also starred and was Tony-nominated for the role of Janet van de Graff. She can currently be seen in the Off-Broadway revival of Sweet Charity.

Ball State University is located at 2000 W. University Avenue in Muncie, IN. Click here to check out their complete season.
