News Sweeney's Magnuson to Sing Sad Repartee July 31 Benjamin Magnuson, who plays Anthony as well as the cello in the acclaimed revival of Sweeney Todd, will perform an evening of contemporary music July 31 at Urban Stages.

The 8 and 10 PM shows are titled Who Asked Me to Annoy You With My Sad Repartee? and will feature direction by Erin Ortman and orchestrations by Sean S. Hagerty. Danny Percefull is the music director, and the concerts will also feature the talents of Amie Margoles, Jake Nissly, Carla Stickler and Mark Wade. Benjamin Magnuson is currently making his Broadway debut in Sweeney Todd. A graduate of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, Magnuson took part in the Carnegie Hall concert presentation of South Pacific. He has also appeared in productions of Merrily We Roll Along, A New Brain, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Fantasticks, Barnum, Peter Pan, Old Wicked Songs and Brighton Beach Memoirs.
