CHICAGO--In a creative merger of hearing and deaf actors, on April 4 the Fountain Theatre of Los Angeles and M.T. Productions present Stephen Sachs' Sweet Nothing in My Ear at Chicago's Victory Gardens Theater. Performed in American Sign Language with voice interpretation, the 1997 play focuses on one family's struggle to move between the hearing and the deaf worlds and addresses the continuing conflict between medical technology and cultural values.
The Victory Gardens's Access project, which has long made the theater accessible to non-hearing audiences, also makes it the appropriate venue for this Midwest premiere. For information call 773-685-2969.
