Scott Fowler, a dancer in the Broadway musical Swing!, is featured in a West Side Story ad campaign for GAP clothing that will premiere during the Academy Awards broadcast on March 26. The ad borrows the "Jets and Sharks theme" from the 1957 Broadway hit, West Side Story, and interprets it as "Jeans and Khaki."

Fowler dances the role of "Riff" in the GAP ads, which recreate Jerome Robbins' original choreography for the songs "America," "Cool" and "The Mambo." During "The Mambo," productions sources said, the Jeans and the Khakis collide in a dance-off in which they ask, "Are you a jean or a khaki?"

The GAP will premiere three new spots during the Oscar show.

Fowler has been a featured Broadway dancer The Red Shoes, Ain't Broadway Grand and Jerome Robbins' Broadway. He played Harry Beaton in Brigado on at the New York City Opera, and has toured nationally in The Tap Dance Kid and 42nd Street. Fowler is a former member of the New York City Ballet and serves as director-choreographer of Best Foot Forward Productions in LA. Scott was also featured in the TV movie adaptations of "Cinderella" and "Annie."
