Hundreds of Sisters and One BIG Brother, originally developed at Robert Redford's Sundance Institute, returns to sunny climes for a Mar. 10-28 stint at San Francisco's Brava Theatre. The show officially opens Mar. 13.

Hundreds is based on Deborah Swisher's experiences growing up as a Black-Jewish girl in Berkeley, California, when her mother decided it was time to move into a commune. Once at Synanon, Swisher was often separated from her parents for weeks at a time and instructed to look at all the other children as her brothers and sisters.

New Yorkers had two opportunities to see Swisher's solo last year, when Hundreds of Sisters played two engagements at Off-Off-Broadway's HERE space. Previously, the piece was workshopped at NY's Public Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, A.C.T. In San Francisco, and The HBO Workspace in L.A..

Now the show comes to San Francisco's Brava Theatre Center for a run March 12-28. Brava! for Women in the Arts is producing.

Swisher's numerous television appearances include guest spots on "Seinfeld," "Conan O'Brien," and "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air." Swisher has also hosted NBC's "Friday Night," "Short Attention Span Theatre" and VH1's "Rock Candy." Hundreds of Sisters & One BIG Brother, written and performed by Deborah Swisher, runs Mar. 10-28.
