The newest venue in Sydney, Star City's Showroom, is the setting for the Sydney Theatre Company's production of Dein Perry's Steel City.
Steel City is a dance spectacular which sees Dein and the Steelers -- a team of 13 hot young dancers, including four women -- perform his unique choreography on Brian Thompson's set of steel and theatrical magic. Tim Finn has composed Steel City's soundtrack, which will be performed live on stage by four musicians.
Dein and the Steelers dance from the factory floor to the hippest floor show in town. With fork lifts, Holden utes, a tip truck and eight and half tonnes of Newcastle steel, they create the ultimate dance party.
Dein's award winning choreography has forever changed the way the world sees tap. His signature style pays homage to his Newcastle origins, and his unique, industrial inspired dance has left tap's top hat and tails image collecting dust in the studios of MGM.
