News Sylvia Will Hold a Special Box-Office Event for Humans and Canines The box office of the Cort Theatre, which will soon be the home of the A.R. Gurney comedy Sylvia, will open for business Aug. 28.

In celebration of the dog-themed play coming to Broadway following a Manhattan Theatre Club debut in 1995, patrons who go to the box office between 10 AM and noon ET that day will be able to purchase tickets for preview performances for $19.95 each. There is a limit of two tickets per person.

In addition, the first 100 people to bring their dog to the box office that day will receive a limited edition Sylvia-themed waste pick-up dispenser.

The cast will comprise Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick, Tony Award winner Julie White, Drama Desk Award winner Robert Sella and Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford in the title role. Tony Award-winning director Daniel Sullivan will stage the production.

Previews begin Oct. 2 prior to an official opening Oct. 27.
