Syracuse Grads Comprise NY Premiere of You, Me and That Guy, About a Girl Who Heals Through Open-Mic | Playbill

News Syracuse Grads Comprise NY Premiere of You, Me and That Guy, About a Girl Who Heals Through Open-Mic Pink House Productions will present the New York City premiere of You, Me and That Guy, an 80-minute comedy about a recent college graduate who uses the magic of an open-mic night to heal her relationships with her family and friends, beginning Sept. 10.

Written by Stephen Sanow, You, Me and That Guy — featuring a cast, creative team and producing team comprised almost entirely of Syracuse University graduates — will open the 2014 Araca Project. The six-performance run will continue through Sept. 14 at the American Theatre of Actors.

The production will star Syracuse graduates Nick Pizarro (Ian), Dario Caudana (Chad), Angela Travino (Sarah's Mom) and Louis Baglio (James) as well as Gracie Terzian (Sarah) and Elyse Steingold (Bailey).

Here's how it's billed: "You, Me and That Guy is a hilarious 80 minute comedy that reflects our technology saturated society and the complicated communications that occur in our world. The play centers around Sarah, an aspiring singer and recent college graduate, who finds herself in a rut in the relationships she has with her family and friends. In order to find a solution she hires a group of community theatre actors to portray her friends and family at an open mic. The stage transforms and enters the world of Sarah's life. However, an unexpected character comes along who reveals that the problem isn't only with her friends but with herself. This uproarious comedy features live music, salsa dancing, roller derby and a whole lotta fun!"

You, Me and That Guy will feature direction and lighting design by Syracuse grads Jenny Leon and Susannah Baron, respectively. Set and prop design are by Zachary Sitrin.

The American Theatre of Actors is located at 314 West 54th Street. For more information and tickets, visit youmeandthatguy.com or aracaproject.com.
