Taewon Yi Kim, who, as Lady Thiang, sings "Something Wonderful" in the current Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of The King and I, will take center stage for a solo concert at New York's Merkin Concert Hall June 9. The one-night concert will include eclectic material ranging from Korean opera to Korean classics to the showtunes of Broadway.
Kim is a graduate of the Juilliard School and the Peabody Conservatory. In 1995 Kim was the grand prize winner of the Annapolis Opera Competition. In 1996 she was a national finalist of the Metropolitan Opera Competition.
