Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles, Tony nominee Will Swenson, and stage and screen alum Chris Diamantopoulos are gearing up to take center stage in Waitress at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre beginning March 31.
Ahead of their first bow, take a look above at footage of trio, in which they rehearse a few scenes and the numbers “Bad Idea” and “You Will Still Be Mine” (amidst a series of playful antics and banter).
This marks the Broadway acting debut for Bareilles, who earned Tony and Grammy nominations for composing the musical’s score.
The current cast of Waitress also includes Charity Angel Dawson as Becky, Caitlin Houlahan as Dawn, and Christopher Fitzgerald as Ogie. Bareilles, Swenson, and Diamantopoulous take over for Jessie Mueller, William Popp, and Drew Gehling, respectively.
