Broadway News Take a Sneak Peek at the Upcoming PBS Broadcast of Falsettos The Tony-nominated Broadway revival was filmed as part of the Live from Lincoln Center series.

Take a sneak peek in the video above at the upcoming Live from Lincoln Center broadcast of Falsettos, William Finn and James Lapine’s Tony-winning musical that was recently seen on Broadway. The revival—which was nominated for five 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical—was filmed January 3–4, ahead of its final performance on January 8. A broadcast date has yet to be announced.

Falsettos began previews at the Walter Kerr Theatre September 29, 2016, ahead of an official opening on October 27. The musical tells the story of Marvin, his lover Whizzer, Marvin’s wife Trina, and their extended family through the early days of the AIDS crisis.

The cast was headed by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory two-time Tony Award winner Christian Borle (Something Rotten!, Peter and the Starcatcher) as Marvin, Tony nominee Stephanie J. Block (Wicked, Drood) as Trina, and Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon) as Whizzer, with Tracie Thoms (Rent) as Dr. Charlotte, Betsy Wolfe (The Last Five Years) as Cordelia, Tony nominee Brandon Uranowitz (An American in Paris) as Mendel, and Anthony Rosenthal (A Christmas Story) as Jason.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop) joined forces with Jujamcyn Theaters to bring the Tony Award-winning musical back to Broadway. Book writer and original director Lapine returned to helm to helm the revival.
