LOS ANGELES -- The touring company of Talk Show Live!, a comedy written by David E. Talbert, arrives at the Wiltern Theatre for eight performances only May 12-17.

Talbert has come to prominence as a playwright in the last few years. His shows have succeeded in delivering big laughs along with inspirational messages and rousing gospel and r&b performances. Credits include What Goes Around...Comes Around, He Say, She Say...But What Does God Say and A Fool and His Money. He also directs Talk Show Live!.

A company spokesperson said Talbert's play "centers on the character of Jamika Jones. As the new host of a TV talk show, she wants her program to take the high road, but instead is misled by her sly, suave producer into presenting a tabloid-style trash show."

Cheryl "Pepsi" Riley stars as Jamika, along with Adele Givens, Maurice Wilkinson, Anthony King and Latrice Page. Kim Waters is the musical director.

Performances are Tues.-Fri. at 8 PM; Sat. at 2 & 8 PM; Sun at 2 & 7.30 PM. The Wiltern is located at Wilshire & Western Aves. Tickets are $19.50-$27.50. Call (213) 480-3232. -- By Willard Manus
