News Target Margin Theater Presents Beyond the Pale Season, Exploring Yiddish Theatre Target Margin Theater will continue its two-year series Beyond the Pale with a season of Yiddish literature.

The ongoing series includes staged productions, one-time events, concerts, installations, panel discussions and a reading series of new translations.

The season will offer an array of Yiddish plays and adaptations from writers including I. L. Peretz, Mendele Mocher Sforim, Sholem Asch, I.J. Singer, Dovid Pinski, Sholem Aleichem, Celia Dropkin, Anna Margolin, Morris Rosenfeld and Moyshe-Leyb Halpern.

Collaborating artists include Mallery Avidon, Shane Baker, Raymond Blankenhorn, William Burke, Debra Caplan, Don Castro, Lenore Doxsee, James Tigger! Ferguson, Sanaz Ghajarrahimi, Rebecca Hart, Susan Hyon, Michael Leibenluft, Mary Neufeld, Alex Randrup, Emily Rea, Allen Lewis Rickman, Andrew Simon, Yuri Skujins, James Smith III, Gil Sperling, Kathleen Kennedy Tobin, Nick Trotta, Kaye Voyce and Moe Yousuf.

"I dove into our work in 2012 excited to learn more about Yiddish literature, but I never dreamed what a cornucopia I would discover," TMT artistic director David Herskovits said in a statement. "Our productions last season have only awakened us all to the powerful work we want to share with the world. People need to know these authors, their stories, poetry and plays!"

The season will feature The Yiddish Heart, a one-night-only event Nov. 6 featuring Yiddish music and drama, held at at The New York Public Library Dorot Jewish Division (Fifth Ave. and 42nd St., Manhattan); Weekend of Yiddish Programming, which will run Dec. 13-15 at The Jewish Community Center (333 Amsterdam Ave., Manhattan); and the new work Uriel Acosta: Doubt is the Food of Faith, with performances beginning March 14, 2014, at The Chocolate Factory (5-49 49th Ave., Queens). The TMT Lab series of productions are planned at various locations throughout the boroughs in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens: Dec. 10-21 at JACK (505 1/2 Waverly, Brooklyn); Feb. 12-22 at The Abrons Arts Center (466 Grand St., Manhattan); and June 4-14 at The Secret Theatre (4402 23rd St., Queens).
