Donna Drake ("Johnny and the Sprites") directs the show that offers a multimedia mash-up of sketch comedy, puppetry, live original music and video shorts. Show times are 7 and 9 PM. The performances will also be filmed.
Joining Tony nominee Tartaglia are Shrek cast members Bobby Daye (The Color Purple, The Lion King), Aymee Garcia (Avenue Q, Les Misérables), Noah Rivera (Wicked, Hairspray) and Jennifer Simard (Spelling Bee, I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change).
The New Fangled Variety Show features head writer and video editor Victor Varnado, writer Karen Sneider, music supervisor Michael Patrick Walker and director of photography Bill Berner.
Executive producers are Michael Lewis, Penny Luedtke, Jayson Raitt and John Tartaglia. Co-executive producers are Harlan Halper and Michael Palitz.
John Tartaglia, who received a Tony nomination for his Broadway debut in Avenue Q, has starred on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast and currently appears as Pinocchio in Shrek the Musical. He is also executive producer and star of Disney Channel's Emmy-nominated series "Johnny and the Sprites."
