The event, which will feature a post-show conversation with the stage and screen director, plays at The Sony Building Screening Room.

With a cast that features Bono, Eddie Izzard, Jim Sturgess, Evan Rachel Wood, Salma Hayek and Joe Cocker, the film employs 30 songs (from The Beatles and more) to tell an original love story. Taymor ("Frida," "Titus," and Broadway's The Lion King) directs from a Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais ("The Commitments") screenplay for Revolution Studios.

"Set against the backdrop of the 1960s amid the turbulent years of anti-war protest, mind exploration and rock 'n roll," according to production notes, "the film moves from the dockyards of Liverpool to the creative psychedelia of Greenwich Village, from the riot-torn streets of Detroit to the killing fields of Vietnam. The star-crossed lovers, Jude (Sturgess) and Lucy (Wood), along with a small group of friends and musicians, are swept up into the emerging anti-war and counterculture movements, with 'Dr. Robert' (Bono) and 'Mr. Kite' (Izzard) as their guides. Tumultuous forces outside their control ultimately tear the young lovers apart, forcing Jude and Lucy against all odds to find their own way back to each other."

Songs featured in the film include "Girl," "Helter Skelter," "Hold Me Tight," "All My Loving," "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "With A Little Help From My Friends," "It Won't Be Long," "I've Just Seen A Face," "Let It Be," "Come Together," "Why Don't We Do It In The Road," "If I Fell," "I Want You," "Dear Prudence," "Flying," "Blue Jay Way," "I Am The Walrus," "The Benefit of Mr. Kite," "Because," "Something," "Oh Darling," "Strawberry Fields," "Revolution," "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Happiness Is A Warm Gun," "Blackbird," "Hey Jude," "Don't Let Me Down," "All You Need Is Love," and "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds."

The film will hit theatres Sept. 14 with the soundtrack on Interscope Records in stores Sept. 18. For more information and a trailer, visit acrosstheuniverse.com.
