Theatre Development Fund's TKTS ticket booth in Times Square has created a "plays only" ticket window. Those people who, on any particular day, do not have a craving for musicals, can find service at a window which will dole out only admissions to Broadway and Off-Broadway dramas and comedies. Tickets for both plays and musicals will continue to be sold at the other TKTS windows.
"We're thrilled to be able to offer a 'Play Only' window at TKTS and hopeful that it will stimulate attendance to non-musical Broadway and Off Broadway productions by both tourists and New Yorkers," says Victoria Bailey, TDF's executive director, in a statement. "The creation of the 'Play Only' window is in keeping with the mission of TKTS, which has always been to make reasonably priced theatre tickets easier to get, attract new and younger audiences and help shows stay open longer."
