Written by Tony Taccone (director of Carrie Fisher’s Wishful Drinking) and directed by Jonathan Moscone, Ghost Light is a fictional play that conjures an imaginary world based on the historic assassination of Mayor George Moscone, the director’s father. The limited engagement will continue through Feb. 19.

The cast features Danforth Comins as Loverboy, Ted Deasy (The 39 Steps national tour) as Basil, Peter Frechette ("thirtysomething") as Film Director, Bill Geisslinger (Berkeley Rep's The House of Blue Leaves) as Prison Guard, Peter Macon (Drowning Crow) as Mister, Christopher Liam Moore as Jon, Tyler James Myers as Boy and Robynn Rodriguez (Berkeley Rep's Continental Divide) as Louise.

Ghost Light, according to Berkeley Rep, "is a poetic collage of fiction and memory. When Jon was a boy, his father was shot – and suddenly their lives were part of history. Years later, when staging a production of Hamlet, the son must confront his buried feelings about a crime that shocked the nation. The ghost of the king stalks the battlements of a boy’s mind – and speaks to all of us about love and loss."

Other members of the creative team include scenic designer Todd Rosenthal, costume designer Meg Neville, lighting designer Christopher Akerlind, sound designer Andre Pluess, video designer Maya Ciarrochi and stage manager Michael Suenkel.

Throughout the run of Ghost Light, the production will offer special events including "Page to Stage," a free conversation with Taccone and Moscone at 7 PM Jan. 23; free 30-minute docent presentations about the show, held at 7 PM on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning Jan. 10; and post-play discussions moderated by theatre professionals Jan. 26, Jan. 31 and Feb. 10. Berkeley Repertory Theatre, a Tony-winning nonprofit regional theatre, has provided a home for emerging and established artists since 1968.

The Thrust Stage is located at 2025 Addison Street in Berkeley, CA. For tickets or information, call (510) 647-2949 or visit berkeleyrep.org.
