News Temptation Tests a Relationship in Two Spoons, Starting April 27 in FL Two Spoons, a play about a gay relationship at a crossroads, gets its world premiere by Gypsy Productions at the Suncoast Theatre in St. Petersburg, FL, April 27-May 20.

Gypsy artistic director Trevor Keller directs the "edgy, heartfelt" comedy by Peter Mercurio. The non-Equity troupe is committed to providing an "alternative" voice in the Tampa-St. Pete area.

The play was a finalist for the 5th Annual Saints and Sinners Literary Festival in New Orleans. It had a Manhattan reading earlier this season at the Bank Street Theatre.

Two Spoons "is about how unexpected turns can shift the direction of a relationship by either pulling you closer, pushing you apart, or driving you crazy," according to production notes. "All they had planned on was a few days of rest and relaxation alone. No child. No tantrums. No toys or games to pick up. But on their last night in Philadelphia, when another hotel guest cruises them, Steve and Larry engage in a different kind of pick up game — one they had never played before. With their relationship now off-balance, Steve and Larry are in uncharted territory."

Two Spoons contains brief nudity and adult situations.

The cast includes Mark Myers, Daniel Harris, Steve Malandro, Donnie Engle and Bobbie Burrell. The Suncoast Theatre is at The Suncoast Resort at 3000 34th Street South, St. Petersburg, FL.
