Leading the cast will be Donald Carrier as Lunt and Jordan Baker as Fontanne. Ten Chimneys had its world premiere in early 2011 at the Arizona Theatre Company. Cleveland Play House artistic director Michael Bloom will stage the production that officially opens Jan. 18, 2012, for a run through Feb. 5, 2012.
Ten Chimneys marks the inaugural production on CPH's new flexible performance space, Second Stage.
According to CPH, "Ten Chimneys peeks into the private lives of theatre legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne at their secluded Wisconsin retreat where they often entertained the titans of Broadway and Hollywood – including Noël Coward, Katharine Hepburn and Laurence Olivier. In this comedy, a young starlet arrives to rehearse the Lunts’ latest production, Chekhov’s The Seagull, and unwittingly ignites a romantic triangle that eclipses any on-stage drama."
The creative team includes Lee Savage (scenic design), Michael Lincoln (lighting design), David Kay Mickelsen (costume design) and Lindsay Jones (sound design). For tickets phone (216) 241-6000. or visit ClevelandPlayhouse.
