Directed by producing artistic director Cyndy A. Marion, the production will feature Nancy Wolfe ("Helter Skelter") as "One" and Joseph Cassese ("Riding In Cars With Boys") as "Two."
"The characters 'One' and 'Two' are the only friends of one-another. They carry out the same evening ritual of card playing and watching the news on TV in an effort to avoid any real confrontation," press notes state. "'One's' physical deterioration and approaching death forces her to prepare for the inevitable. 'Two' resists this change and his consuming fear of losing "One" leads to an emotional breakdown."
In a departure from his earlier works, I Can't Imagine Tomorrow employs silence and fragmented discourse in order to express the themes of human dependence, fear and loss.
The Jan. 31 performance will be followed by a panel discussion with renowned Tennessee Williams scholars Dr. Annette J. Saddik and Thomas Keith.
The creative team includes Debra Leigh Siegel (lighting designer), David B. Thompson (costume designer), Vanessa R. Bombardieri (dramaturg), Brooke Harbaugh (assistant director) and Joe Gianono (composer/arranger). Tickets are available by calling (212) 868-4444 or visiting SmartTix.com.
