Classic Arts News Tenor Marcello Giordani to Sing in New York's Columbus Day Parade for Second Year This holiday weekend, for the second consecutive year, Sicilian tenor Marcello Giordani will be singing in Manhattan's Columbus Day Parade. The event will be held this Monday, October 8, from 11:30 a.m. to about 3:00 p.m.; the parade route runs up Fifth Avenue from 44th Street to 79th Street.
The parade organizers have asked Giordani to sing "Nessun dorma" from Puccini's Turandot as a tribute to the late Luciano Pavarotti, who made the aria into something of a pop hit.

Giordani — who is currently in New York to appear in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Metropolitan Opera — will perform with pianist Katherine Olsen at approximately 1:40 p.m.

The Columbus Day Parade in Manhattan will be televised by WNBC Channel 4 in New York; check local listings for the broadcast time in your area.
