Broadway stars Terrence Mann and Charlotte d’Amboise will hold a master class and audition for performers age 14–24 in Lynchburg, Virginia on February 12.
Reservations are required for both the class and the audition, which is hosted by the Triple Arts theatre intensive at the Virginia Theatre Association. Click here for information. The class also serves as the audition for the Triple Arts Summer Intensive.
The class, which runs 11–1 PM, will be lead by d’Amboise and give participants the opportunity to learn choreography from the broadway star. To participate you must be a member of VTA.
However, the audition, which runs 1–3 PM, does not require participants to be VTA members. The audition will start with d’Amboise (A Chorus Line, Pippin, Chicago) teaching a short combination. Auditioners will then sing 16 bars from a song in the Broadway repertoire, which will be critiqued by d’Amboise and Mann (original Broadway Cats, Les Misérables, Beauty and the Beast, The Scarlet Pimpernel). An accompanist will be provided but auditioners need to bring their own sheet music.
The events will be held at Seven Hills Dance Studios, 4925 Boonsboro Road in Lynchburg. VTA members may take part for free; VTA student membership costs $35.
Both Mann and d’Amboise will perform aboard Playbill Travel's Rhine River cruise in August 2017. The luxury cruise—complete with performances by top Broadway talent like the two of them—tours the stunning and culture-filled cities of Basel, Cologne, Amsterdam, and more. For those who can't wait until summer, Broadway on the High Seas 8 departs on a Caribbean adventure set for February 2017, and recently announced two-time Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell as a performer.
