News Terrence McNally's Crucifixion Has Fall World Premiere in San Francisco A world premiere Terrence McNally drama, Crucifixion will play as part of the Pride Season series at San Francisco's New Conservatory Theatre Center this fall.

The NCTC-commissioned work will run Sept. 28-Nov. 6 in the eleventh series which is a gay theatre performance program.

Crucifixion centers on "a high profile TV producer who is violently murdered by a Jesuit priest. As the eleven diverse characters explore the events leading up to this tragedy, they discover a labyrinth of relationships, secrets, and revelations that span from New York to San Francisco to Los Angeles," according to show materials.

The prolific McNally's breadth of work includes plays (Master Class, Love! Valour! Compassion!) as well as librettos (Ragtime, Kiss of the Spider Woman). He won Tony Awards for all four aforementioned works. Other pieces by the scribe include Frankie and Johnny in the Clair De Lune, The Full Monty, The Visit, Corpus Christi, The Lisbon Traviata, Andre’s Mother and Lips Together, Teeth Apart. His Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams will begins Off-Broadway July 26 at Primary Stages and the Broadway-bound Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life starts its world premiere Sept. 10 at the Old Globe.

Other shows in the Pride Season Eleven series include Tom Smith's Dangerous — and all-male adaptation of Dangerous Liasons — (Aug. 6-Sept. 11), Steve Kluger's comedy After Dark (Nov. 18-Dec. 31), Lanford Wilson's drama Burn This (Jan. 13-Feb. 19, 2006), Richard Kramer's gay parenting comedy Theatre District (Jan. 27-March 5, 2006), the U.S. premiere of Ash Kotak's drama about gay life in Bombay, Hijra (March 31-May 7, 2006), Paul Rudnick's Valhalla (May 12-June 24, 2006), the world premiere Prince Gomolvilas comedy The Fabulous Adventures of Captain Queer (June 2-July 9, 2006) and a special engagement of Brian Quirk's Mapplethorpe: The Opening (Aug. 25-Sept. 11).
