The actress won a Tony Award playing the Swedish Ulla, the secretary and comely wannabe actress who falls in love with Leo Bloom in the Mel Brooks musical.
Huffman is being replaced Aug. 5 by Sarah Cornell, the "Ulla" of the upcoming Toronto production. She will stay with the Broadway company for three months, then join Toronto when it opens, a spokesman said.
Cornell is a twentysomething unknown who is joining Equity (Canadian and American) for the first time for The Producers.
Huffman was nominated for a Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for playing Ziegfeld's favorite in The Will Rogers Follies: A Life in Revue.
