Also announced among winners of 70 creative arts awards, mostly in technical categories, were theatre names John Lithgow (for his serial-killer guest role on "Dexter") and Neil Patrick Harris (for his guest work on "Glee").

Broadway designer David Rockwell won a 2010 Emmy as production designer of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards in the category of Outstanding Art Direction for Variety, Music or Nonfiction Programming. He shared the award with art director Joe Celli.

The 63rd Annual Tony Awards are also nominated in the categories of Outstanding Direction for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special – Glenn Weiss, Director; and Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special – Dave Boone, Writer and Special Material Written by Paul Greenberg, which will be announced Aug. 29 at the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

They won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special in 2005 for the 58th Annual Tony Awards. Weiss was also the recipient of the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program in 2003 for the 56th Annual Tony Awards.

Kirshner and Weiss have acted as executive producers of the Tony Awards telecast for the past seven years. Weiss also served as director of the 2010 Tony Awards.
