1. I think my favorite was Morgan James. Her romantic look with that blush tone dress is totally on trend, and, more importantly, it looks great on her body and with her summery hair. Her makeup is flawless and those colorful earrings bring out her eyes. Very smart.

2. Kenny Leon wore a tux, which is modern chic, fits him well and is appropriate for a director on opening night. I like that he gave us some quirky humor with the sneakers. We’re seeing a lot of sneakers with suits these days, but he really makes it work in a way that’s effortless and individual to him.

3. My darling co-host from the Tonys red carpet, Valisia LeKae, is always stunning and knows how to wear a dress that flatters her body. I love the ruching. She popped it with a lighter shoe and a red lip, which was a fabulous choice. Great look for a summer evening.

4. Love this modern, short suit on Jarrod Grimes. It’s right on trend and perfect for the vibe of this show. This look is effortless and a great example of how to wear a trend without looking like you’re trying.

Vanessa Williams

5. Vanessa Williams is rocking the lace, and that miniskirt shows off those great legs. Very summer fresh and appropriate for the event. Beautiful makeup and accessories all around.

Sergio Trujillo

6. This blue suit is easy, fresh, a great fit and color. I really like the pale pink shirt with the detail on the collar. Sergio Trujillo definitely looks modern and handsome.

7. I put Jahi Kearse and Brenda Nicole Moorer together because they are truly a great pairing of styles. They’re looks are both modern, cool and comfortable. Her hair and makeup are beautiful and a great complement to her sleek and simple dress. The dandy gentleman is having a comeback, and it’s a perfect fit for this fun evening.

Overall, it’s so important to dress for the event. You don’t want to look over or under dressed. It’s a warm evening in NYC with a downtown vibe. You want to look relevant and styled appropriately. I feel all these people are doing that. Holler if ya hear me!
