News The 92nd Street Y Will Explore O'Neill Center's Role as Theatre Lab Sept. 8 Anyone curious about the O'Neill's influential new work development process for playwrights are encouraged to attend a free evening of performance and discussion at the 92nd Street Y (1395 Lexington Ave) on Sept. 8 at 7:30 PM.

The event will feature Playwrights Conference Artistic Director Wendy C. Goldberg, Paulette Haupt, Artistic Director of the National Music Theater Conference and O’Neill alums Adam Gwon, Sarah Hammond and Deborah Zoe Laufer.

According to press notes, "the conversation will explore the legacy of the O’Neill’s programs and the influence of this legacy on plans for the future. Upcoming submission opportunities for writers will also be discussed."

The Playwrights Conference at the O'Neill supports playwrights during the creation and development of new play projects including a residency for the month of July 2015 with a rehearsal process and two public readings.

The O’Neill center will also make itself available to potential applicants around the country by hosting three online question and answer sessions about the process on the Center's Facebook page Sept 30 at 1 PM, Oct. 5 at 3 PM and Oct. 15 at 6 PM.
