News   The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey Will Play Los Angeles The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, which was recently seen Off-Broadway, will play a limited run at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City, CA, Jan. 13-31, 2016. Tony Speciale directs.

The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey was written by James Lecesne, who also stars. The production also features original music by Duncan Sheik.

The show is described as such: "Absolute Brightness is about the disappearance of Leonard Pelkey, a 14-year old boy who dared to be different, and the small New Jersey town that will never be the same without him."

Lecesne wrote the screenplay for the Academy Award-winning short film "Trevor," which was based on his one-man-show Word of Mouth. He is co-founder of The Trevor Project, a non-profit organization focused on suicide prevention efforts among LGBTQ+ youth.

On Broadway he has appeared in Gore Vidal's The Best Man.

Absolute Brightness features scenic design by Jo Winiarski, lighting design by Matt Richards, sound design by Christian Frederickson, projection design by Aaron Rhyne, original animation and photography by Matthew Sandager and costume design by Paul Marlow.

Darren Bagert, Daryl Roth, Jane Dubin, Curtis Forsythe, Michael Mayer, Diane Procter, Seaview Productions and Minerva Productions/Joshua Goodman produce.
