News "The After Party" Will Welcome Spring Awakening's Michele Sept. 21 "The After Party," billed as "an informal social gathering for the theatrically inclined," will welcome Spring Awakening's Lea Michele Sept. 21.

Michele, who plays Wendla in the Tony-winning Best Musical, will be on hand to greet fans and perform a few songs. Other guests who will share their talents include Ariel Sinclair, Miss Fire Island 2002; and cast members from the NYMF production of Austentatious. (That cast includes Lisa Asher, Stephen Bel Davies, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Amy Goldberger, George Merrick, Stacey Sargeant and Paul Wyatt.) Hosted by Brandon Cutrell and Alysha Umphress, "The After Party" at the Laurie Beechman Theatre features Ray Fellman at the piano. Cabaret favorite Lisa Asher is also part of the "Party" mix, where amateurs and professionals are invited to take turns at the open mic. The "Party" begins at 10:30 PM and continues to 2 AM.

Lea Michele received a Drama Desk nomination for her performance as Wendla in Spring Awakening; she also created that role in the show's Off-Broadway mounting. The actress' other Broadway credits include Fiddler on the Roof, Ragtime and Les Misérables. Michele also appeared in a regional production of The Diary of Anne Frank.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within the West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42nd Street. There is no cover charge or minimum for "The After Party."
