As well as being a big hit on Broadway, Martin McDonagh's The Beauty Queen of Leenane is enjoying a considerable success in Italy, too. The Italian production of McDonagh's drama is playing today, Apr. 30, the final performance of a highly successful two weeks engagement at Genoa's Teatro Duse.

La Bella Regina di Leenane is directed by Valerio Binasco and received excellent reviews on the Italian press. Starring in the show are Gianna Piaz who plays the leading role of Mag Folan. Sergio Romano co-stars in the role of Pato Dooley; also appearing are Daniela Giordano (Maureen Folan) and Fulvio Mose Maria Pepe (Ray Dooley).

The show is produced by Genoa's Teatro Stabile and features scenes and costumes by Valeria Manari, sound by Andrea Nicolini, lighting by Piero Niego and a translation by Anna Laura Messeri.
