News The Book of Mormon Sells Out Denver Engagement in Five Hours The three-week Denver engagement of the national tour of The Book of Mormon, the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit, sold out within five hours on Jan. 22.

The Book of Mormon is set to launch its national tour Aug. 14-Sept. 2 at Denver's Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Tickets went on sale at 10 AM Jan. 22 and representatives confirmed to Playbill.com that the entire run sold within five hours. Deadline.com first reported the news.

Following its Denver launch, The Book of Mormon will play a 12-week Los Angeles engagement at the Pantages Theatre Sept. 5-Nov. 25. Tickets for the Los Angeles engagement will go on sale shortly.

Casting and additional tour dates have not been announced.

A separate production of The Book of Mormon will play a 12-week Chicago engagement at the Bank of America Theatre. It will play Chicago Dec. 1, 2012-March 2, 2013, according to the Bank of America Theatre website.

"South Park" creators-writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Tony-winning Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez collaborated on the script and score to The Book of Mormon, which earned Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical. Co-directed by Parker and Casey Nicholaw, The Book of Mormon opened to critical acclaim March 24, 2011, at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre. Both earned Tony Awards for their work.
