News The Book of Mormon Writers Surprise Students at NYU Tony-winning Book of Mormon authors Trey Parker and Matt Stone shared tricks of the trade with students at NYU Sept. 6 as part of the MTV series "Stand In," according to the New York Times.

The MTV series surprises college students with notable guest lecturers, who have included Madonna, Don Cheadle, Annie Lennox, Natalie Portman, Russell Simmons and Ashley Judd.

According to the Times, Parker and Stone discussed their work on creating the Tony-winning musical The Book of Mormon as part of the Tisch School of the Arts' "Storytelling Strategies" course. They also spoke of their work as the Emmy-winning creators of "South Park" and the film "Team America: World Police."

The episode is scheduled to air Oct. 3 on mtvU, which is available on several cable providers and on college campuses across the country. All episodes are later available on the website mtvU.com.

Parker and Stone authored the Tony-winning hit musical with Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez. The Book of Mormon earned Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical.
