Choreographer Raja Feather Kelly—currently at the Williamstown Theater Festival, where he is working on the new musical Lempicka—is set to kick off the 2018–2019 season at the Bushwick Starr this September. The Brooklyn theatre's new lineup also features Diana Oh, whose hybrid concert-protest play {my lingerie play} received critical acclaim last season, and solo artist and actor David Greenspan.

Beginning September 5, Kelly (who also recently worked on Soho Rep.'s critically acclaimed Fairview) will premiere his new work Ugly, running through September 8. The show is a dance-theater-multimedia solo performance that deconstructs and reconstructs blackness and queerness through a postmodernist, pop-cultural lens.

In October, the Starr will team up with Abingdon Theatre Company to present Greenspan's The Things That Were There (October 10–November 4), followed by Oh's Infinite Love Party: An Intentional Barefoot Dinner Party, Dance Party, and Sleepover (January 9–26, 2019).

The season will also feature Kristine Haruna Lee and Aya Ogawa's Suicide Forest (presented in association with Ma-Yi February 27–March 16); a return of Superhero Clubhouse's Big Green Theater, a program developed with the Starr that combines environmental education with performance (April 26–28); and Sean Donovan's Cabin (May 22–June 8).

The Starr's reading series will return in December and continue through March.
