News The Civilians in Concert Will Conclude Barrow Street's Sounds of Summer Series The Sounds of Summer music series, described as a "musical storytelling celebration," will conclude with a concert from Off-Broadway's The Civilians Aug. 8 at the Barrow Street Theatre.

The Civilians in Concert: Gone Missing, directed and written by Steven Cosson, will begin at 8 PM and features music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. The event will be a concert version of The Civilians' Gone Missing, a wry and whimsical musical documentary. According to press notes, the musical is "crafted from company interviews with real-life New Yorkers about things gone missing, from keys cell phones to dogs and friends…even sanity!"

BST produced, with The Civilians, the critically acclaimed commercial Off-Broadway production of Gone Missing that ran for seven months in 2007. The Civilians portray more than  30 characters in their signature storytelling cabaret style.
