Downtown N.Y. puppeteers, The Elementals, bring their latest collection of plants with an attitude, ritual sacrifice, and the fractured forces of nature to Manhattan's P.S. 122 with Ichabod Revealed, running Mar. 4-28. Based on the papers of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" author Washington Irving (a.k.a. Diedrich Knickerbocker), The Elementals take Hollow's famous denizen Ichabod Crane and expose him to new trials beyond the grave.

The Elementals, founded in Minneapolis in 1995, reached acclaim with New York critics and audiences alike with their 1997 show, Clone Squad. Squad featured a series of comically surreal vignettes using shadow puppets, larger puppets, and bunraku-style puppets. The Elementals handle decidedly more complex themes than most puppet theatres, challenging the notion of puppet theatre as kids' play.

The Elementals consist of John Pavlik, Leigh Secrest, Margret Godwin, Peter Baird, James Nichols, and James Godwin.

Ichabod Revealed is playing at P.S. 122, Mar. 4-28. For tickets ($12) or more information, call (212) 477-5288.
