The Gorey Details, the next tenant in the Century Center, reintroduces theatre audiences to the work of Edward Gorey beginning Oct. 3. The official opening is Oct. 16. The show, drawn from the macabre pen and-ink drawings of artist Gorey, is produced by Ken Hoyt and Kevin McDermott.

The cast of unknowns includes Alison Crowley, Allison DeSalvo, Matt Kuehl, Liza Shaller, Clare Stollak, Daniel Levine, Kevin McDermott, Ben Nordstrum and Christopher Youngsman.

Gorey died on April 15 of this year, at age 75. During his lifetime, he inspired many a theatrical venture, from the Tony Award-winning 1977 Broadway production of Dracula, which Gorey designed, to Off Broadway's Amphigorey in 1994.

Gorey Details has been in development for several years, tested on such stages as Provincetown Repertory Theatre and American Repertory Theatre, and now features as its composer Peter Matz. A constant throughout its many versions has been director and choreographer Daniel Levans. Levans is familiar with Gorey's work, having brought Amphigorey to the stage.
