The evening will be held at Joe's Pub, the intimate cabaret located within Joe's Pub, and will feature a mix of songs (Sobule) and stories (Sweeney). Show time is 7 PM. Jill Sobule's solo recordings are titled "Things Here Are Different," "Jill Sobule," "Happy Town," "Pink Pearl," "I Never Learned to Swim" and "Underdog Victorious."
Julia Sweeney wrote and performed her God Said "Ha!" — about the loss of her brother — in Los Angeles before heading to Broadway's Lyceum Theatre. She then wrote and performed in In the Family Way (in L.A. and New York) about her adopted daughter. Her newest show is titled Letting Go of God, which she will reprise at the Ars Nova in October. The actress has also been seen in the films "Pulp Fiction," "Stuart Little," "Clockstoppers," "Stuart Saves His Family" and "It's Pat" — the latter based on her SNL gender-unspecific character.
Joe's Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Avenue. Tickets, priced at $25, are available by calling (212) 967-7555. Visit www.joespub.com for more information.
