Tony-nominated choreographer Camille A. Brown (Choir Boy, Once on This Island) has two projects at the Joyce this season: a celebration of tap history titled And Still You Must Swing, in collaboration with dance collective Dormeshia, Derrick K. Grant, and Jason Samuels Smith; followed by Mr. TOL E. RAncE, the piece that launched the choreographer’s dance theatre trilogy on black identity.

The Joyce will also welcome a number of international companies for special engagements. Included among them: the return of Companhia de Dança's Deborah Colker with her show Cão Sem Plumas (Dog Without Feathers); the foot-stomping South American cowboys of Che Malambo; Shantala Shivalingappa, embodying the rich history of South Indian dance in Akasha, a work of five solos accompanied by live musicians; and Soledad Barrio + Noche Flamenca in Entre Tú y Yo (Between You and Me) featuring some of Spain’s top flamenco dancers.
