It will begin performances March 22, prior to an official opening March 25, at London's Jermyn Street Theatre, for a run through April 23.
Gina Beck, David Burt and Beverley Klein will lead the cast under Lotte Wakeham's direction.
Beck will be reprising the role of Kate Hardcastle, which she first played aged 15 in the original NYMT production. She has since had a successful West End career, starring as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera and Cosette in Les Misérables. In a press statement, she commented, "After spending the school holidays of my teenage years performing this fantastic musical up and down the country with the National Youth Music Theatre, I feel very blessed to be able to revisit a role that I had so much fun playing and a show which I always felt deserved a professional outing."
Burt, who plays Mr. Hardcastle, has performed many leading roles for the RSC, National Theatre and in the West End, including originating the role of Enjolras in Les Misérables.
Klein, who plays Mrs. Hardcastle, has played Golde in Fiddler on the Roof, the Witch in Into the Woods (Royal Opera House), the Old Woman in Candide (National Theatre, ENO), and Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd (Opera North). The cast also includes Ian Virgo, Gemma Sutton, Dylan Turner, Lila Clements, Greg Herst, Samuel Martin, Jack Shalloo and Lauren Storer. The production is designed by Samal Blak, with musical direction by Tom Attwood, lighting by Christopher Nairne, costumes by Karen Smith and choreography by Tim Jackson. It is produced by Chantelle Staynings and Peter Huntley Productions in association with Jermyn Street Theatre.
Goodall is currently represented in the West End by his musical Love Story, running at the Duchess Theatre through Feb. 26. His previous musicals include The Hired Man, but he is best known as composer of TV theme tunes including "The Vicar of Dibley," "Mr. Bean," "Blackadder" and "The Catherine Tate Show." He is also Classic FM's composer-in-residence and presents a weekly show on the station. Hart is best known for writing the lyrics for Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, Aspects of Love and recently providing revisions for Love Never Dies.
