PASADENA, CA -- Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac will open at the Knightsbridge Theatre Jan 8, playing through April 11, 1999 in weekend repertory with Amadeus (which closes Jan. 24). Cyrano has been seen previously at the Knightsbridge in this new version, which has been translated directly from the French by Julie Anne Terrell and Joseph Stachura. The latter also directs.
Terrell's choreography will be seen in the duels and sword fights, which play such a big part in the adventurous life of the poet Cyrano. "A true hero, he is undone only by his obsession with his appearance," said a company spokesperson. "As he puts it, 'vanity is my old enemy.'"
The Knightsbridge is located at 35 S. Raymond Ave. Call (626) 440-0821.
