The Last Castrato, according to press notes, "tells the story about the unique, almost forgotten group – the castrati -- who were damaged at a young age by forces beyond their control. Taking place in the early years of the 20th century . . . this is his personal journey through which [Moreschi] gains wisdom, self-confidence, and acceptance of his sexual identity through his artistry and aspiration triumphing over bureaucracy, conservatism, and raw political ambition. Moreschi finally finds out who he really is as he boldly stands up for himself, celebrating his distinctive talent and sexuality, combating homophobia and petty intrigue."

Show times will be Wednesdays-Saturdays at 8 PM.

Connelly Theater is located at 220 East 4th Street. Tickets, priced $18, are available by calling (800) 838-3006 (ask for Event Number 125160) or by visiting www.brownpapertickets.com/event/125160.
