Los Angeles News   The Lion King Sing-Along Set for August The screenings will be held at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre.

El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood will present a sing-along version of the mammoth hit Disney film The Lion King August 4–20.

Show times for The Lion King Sing-Along are 10 AM, 1 PM, and 4 PM from August 4 through August 10 and 10 AM, 1 PM, 4 PM, and 7 PM from August 11–20.

El Capitan Theatre General Manager Ed Collins said in a statement, “Disney created an instant classic with the original release of The Lion King in 1994 and its popularity has never wavered. We are thrilled to offer a whole new way to enjoy this beloved Disney film at The El Capitan Theatre. Who can resist singing along to such unforgettable songs as ’Hakuna Matata,’ ’Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ and ’Circle of Life’? The Lion King Sing-Along will also include a special live appearance by Timon on The El Capitan Theatre stage before every show. There is simply no better way to experience the laughter, music and majesty of this Disney masterpiece.”

The Lion King, Disney's 1994 animated feature film, includes music by Elton John and Tim Rice and features the voices of stage actors Matthew Broderick (Adult Simba), James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Nathan Lane (Timon), Ernie Sabella (Pumba), Jeremy Irons (Scar), Robert Guillaume (Rafiki), and Whoopi Goldberg (Shenzi).

A live-action adaptation, directed by The Jungle Book's Jon Favreau, will be released June 19, 2019.

The animated film was also the source material for the hit, Tony-winning musical, which continues on Broadway at the Minskoff Theatre.
