News The Little Dog Laughed to Play New Jersey's Bickford Theatre; Casting Announced The Little Dog Laughed, Douglas Carter Beane's Tony Award-winning comedy about dealing with a Hollywood star's homosexuality, will make its New Jersey premiere at the Bickford Theatre in Morristown, Jan. 20-Feb. 13, 2011.

Eric Hafen will direct a cast including Liz Zazzi, Mark Irish, Scott Tyler and Cynthia Fernandez. The creative team will feature scenic designer Jim Bazewicz, costume designer Alysson Shapiro, lighting designer Sarah Abby Hoke-Brady and sound designer Andy Elliott.

According to Bickford press notes, "Rising film star Mitchell Green is every girl's fantasy and soon to become a household name, thanks to his devilish agent Diane, who excels at navigating the choppy waters of Hollywood. With Mitchell on the brink of superstardom, Diane encounters one teensy weensy obstacle--she can’t seem to stop her leading man from coming out of the closet! With Mitchell spending days and nights with his new 'friend' Alex, and Alex’s beautiful girlfriend Ellen (yes, girlfriend!) causing a drama of her own, what lengths will Mitchell go to play the part? And will there be a Hollywood ending when the final credits role?"

The Bickford Theatre is located at 6 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown, NJ. For tickets, call (973) 971-3706 or visit bickfordtheatre.org.
